You, Jon Stewart, more than did your job! You employed your platform for the greater good, and gave voice, adroitly, to the stained, bleeding, sobbing elephant in the room. A voice to the voiceless and ignored, and a voice to each one of the nine innocent, bless'ed, victims of Charleston, South Carolina's disturbed son.
Even as we prepare to gorge ourselves on Bar-B-Que. fireworks and apple pie---You spoke compassionately of the insanity, cruelty, irony and ugliness which we as a nation (its leadership) endorse whole hog--- even while the (OH, so) "patriotic" Kabuki of being the "good guy" of the world has become threadbare, invisible, and unsustainable.
I love America, but much like the drunken Aunt at the wedding reception... I sometimes just don't LIKE her much. She hurts me too often, and too deeply.
Lemmings will abhor your commentary. Attuned, compassionate, hopeful Americans will not. Thank you for telling the #TRUTH.
