A PIG saved the life of a GOAT. Read that sentence again please?
We never know who our hero will be. Often it is ABSOLUTELY NOT the person (or creature) we expect it to be.
Most people would SWEAR that it was IMPOSSIBLE for a Pig to rescue anything! From where I sit, I'd have said, "It remains to be seen, but it could HAPPEN!"
I refuse to believe naysayers... EVER--- until I have enough data to make an informed opinion. Sometimes it is just misinformation or "sour grapes". My mind, however, remains open to impossibilities brought to fruition.
Had the goat--- or the pig--- believed what EVERYBODY ELSE thought, neither would have survived. Think about it. Open our minds and we are constantly rewarded and amazed and blessed by the simplest occurrences and the achievement of "the impossible".
Thank goodness that each critter resisted the common "truth"!
- Neither pigs nor goats can swim!
- Pigs cannot choose to do the right thing as mere creatures of habit.
- Pigs are too lazy and stubborn to stop their routine to make a difference.
- Goats are too stubborn to take direction... or to APPRECIATE it.
And thank goodness, also, for the UNIVERSAL truths!
- Pig and Billy Goat D.N.A., just don't Spliiiiice!
- Goats don't eat pork.
- Pigs don't eat Curry Goat.
I, truly, prefer living with an open, and discerning, mind. Actually, I have no other choice! RIGHT ON PIG! RIGHT ON GOAT!!!!! In your instinctual refusal to believe the odds and suppositions, and in honor of your instinct to survive, Mr. Goat, you simply got down to work and DID it!
Maybe we should be open to things outside what is expected? Maybe we could benefit from ignoring the mass opinion and making EVERY effort to think for ourselves and ignore the loudest voices of the "Negative-Nelsons" of the universe?
Besides... if they had died, that would be one less pot of curry goat, or one less "BLT" (not really--- since they were in a PETTING ZOO!)
